Here are the 5 easy steps to a MoveAmerica U-Load™ We Drive move. These steps are as follows: 1. Determine the amount of space you require. Utilize average rules of thumb (like 3 lineal feet per room) or visit our Space Estimator. If you know the space you need, obtain an "Instant Quote", and reserve your shipment with MoveAmerica's office. MoveAmerica will send you a contract with all the terms in writing for you to sign and fax back to us. Confirm all dates and addresses. 2. On the day you requested, a 28 foot long "pup" trailer is delivered ("spotted") at your home. You have 48 hours free of charge (plus any weekends) to load the trailer, and if you need more time that is available too. If we bring the trailer on Friday, weekends are not counted as business days so you have an extra 2 free days to load or unload. We would pickup the trailer on Monday or even as late as Tuesday depending on the time we brought it Friday. 3. You load the front of the trailer with your shipment using the full width and the full height of the trailer. In the MoveAmerica system, you only pay for the actual amount of space in lineal feet (the length of the trailer measured from the back wall) that you use, but the entire trailer (28 feet long) is available in case you need it. The minimum chargeable length is 3 feet of the trailer. Each trailer comes fully equipped with "loadlocks", which are bars that help secure your load. You erect a simple bulkhead behind your shipment using 2 sheets of plywood (you need to get this) and the loadlocks, and you're ready to go. Call the MoveAmerica office and we'll have the trailer picked up. 4. The trailer returns to our terminal where the space behind your shipment is filled out that evening with commercial dry cargo on skids. Around midnight, your locked and sealed trailer begins moving to your new home and travels about 500 miles each business day. 5. When the trailer arrives, MoveAmerica will put you in touch with the destination delivery coordinator who will schedule your delivery time on the date and time most convenient to you. By now, the trailer has been emptied of all commercial cargo and is delivered to your new home just as you left it with your shipment intact behind its bulkhead. Once the trailer is delivered to you, your last step is to unload the trailer (again, you have 48 free hours plus weekends), call us to pickup the empty, and enjoy your new home and new city! But first, you need to get an Instant Quote, which is just a click away. |
