Question? What exactly is MoveAmerica delivering for me to load? Answer: Moveamerica delivers a 28 foot long enclosed commercial trailer on wheels known as a "pup". Some call this a trailer, a container, or a pod. We call it a trailer or pup. The trailer is 9 feet high and 8 feet wide inside and is small enough to fit in most driveways. We bring the trailer attached to a tractor, disconnect the tractor, and leave the trailer at a spot that you designate.

Question? Does MoveAmerica deliver directly to my door? Answer: Yes, MoveAmerica delivers a trailer to your door on both ends of your move at no extra cost.

Question? How many days do I have to load and unload the trailer? Answer: You are allowed two business days free of charge (don't count weekends or holidays) to load and unload. If you keep the trailer over the weekend, those days are also free to you. For instance, you could receive a trailer at 1PM on Friday and not be required to return it until 1PM the following Tuesday.

Question? What days of the week will MoveAmerica pickup and deliver my trailer. Answer: MoveAmerica will pickup and deliver trailers on business days. Weekend or holiday service may be available at an extra charge. Please ask your MoveAmerica representative for details.

Question? Who do I call after my shipment is loaded and secure behind my bulkhead? Answer: Call MoveAmerica's office at 1-877-495-9555 and we will have the trailer picked up and started on its way to your new home.

Question? Are there any other families furniture on the trailer with mine? Answer: Yours is the only household goods shipment on the trailer. After you have finished loading, we pickup the trailer and bring it to our local terminal where we complete loading the trailer with dry commercial cargo (boxes) on pallets. The trailer leaves the terminal that night to begin moving to your new home. This cargo will never be seen by you.

Question? What equipment comes on the trailer? Answer: Trailers come empty except for (usually) 6 loadlocks (sometimes called loadbars), which are used by you along with 2 sheets of plywood to secure your load behind a bulkhead. You will need to obtain the 2 sheets of plywood (4 x 8; 3/8 inch thick) to wall off your shipment. Sometimes a complete bulkhead will already be on the trailer and the driver will lock it in place for you. Ask your Moveamerica Rep to see which type you have on your trailer.

Question? What is the purpose of the bulkhead? Answer: The bulkhead walls off and secures your shipment (which is in the front of the trailer) and keeps it from falling down during transit. Your shipment cannot move unless the bulkhead is in place. Pre-made bulkheads on trailers so equipped have seals and locks on them.

Question? How long does it take for me to get my shipment? Answer: On an average, your trailer will move about 500 miles each business day after pickup from your residence, and will be available for delivery the firstvbusiness day following arrival at the destination terminal.

Question? Who will be driving the truck moving my shipment? Answer: MoveAmerica partners with very large commercial trucking companies, such as UPS Freight, who employ professional drivers to move your shipment. MoveAmerica does not contract with small operators or independant contractors.

Question? Can MoveAmerica arrange loading and unloading of my shipment. Answer: Yes, MoveAmerica can arrange professional loaders and unloaders at your request.

Question? If I am in the military using MoveAmerica for my PPM, will MoveAmerica provide me with certified weight tickets? Answer: Yes, MoveAmerica will provide both light and heavy weight tickets that the T.O. needs to reimburse you for your move.

Question? Where does MoveAmerica provide service? Answer: As long as you are moving over 100 miles MoveAmerica can provide service nationwide with some exceptions. When you request a quote though our Instant Quote system, anyplace we quote is a place we service. If we cannot service a particular point, the system will tell you when you request your quote. Question? Is it possible for me to track my shipment throughout my move? Answer: Yes, you can track its progress on the web or call a MoveAmerica customer service representative who will track it for you.

Question? Do I have to wrap, blanket, box, and protect my shipment. Answer: Absolutely, protection of your goods is your responsibility.

Question? Where can I obtain packing materials, cartons, and tape. Answer: Materials can be ordered directly from Moveamerica's web site.
